Welcome to Stone’s Throw, Michigan

The dunes are steep, the beaches are breathtaking, the whole town eats spaghetti on Wednesdays, and the murders are cozy.

Merda!” I mutter to myself after I get back outside, finding swear words in Italian more dignified than their English counterparts. “Martin Short, get your butt back up here right now!” I angrily hiss through my teeth.

If you get swept out to sea, I swear to God, dog…

Stone’s Throw State Park Ranger, Maudy Lorso, spends her days playing cards and sipping drinks with her Millennial gal pals, hiking steep sand dunes with her scruffy dog, Martin Short, and ignoring the heartache of a devastatingly drawn-out breakup. Having built a quiet life in the Lake Michigan coastal village of Stone’s Throw, her emotional safety net is turned inside out when her boss notifies her of looming budget cuts threatening her job. That, and the body of a missing tourist is discovered deep in the park.

In order to save her dream job she’s forced to solve the murder of the missing man. Easy…right?
